The Indian Liberal Group is structured as follows: At
the Local Level: The Local Chapters At the State Level: The State Execuives
At the National Level: The National Executive The Local Chapter The
Local Chapter is at the base of the ILG’s organisation pyramid. Ten members
residing in a particular locality can form a Local Chapter. Local Chapters are
autonomous within the parameters of the ILG’s Constitution and policies
and will be free to take action on their own. Such autonomy of Local Chapters
is consistent with the Liberal belief in democratic decentralisation. State
Executive A State Executive can be formed in a State where there are
at least fifty members. A State Executive’s role is essentially to monitor
the work of Local Chapters and are responsible for policy pronouncements vis-à-vis
the State concerned. The National Executive The National
Executive is responsible for the conduct of the day to day activities of the ILG
and take policy decisions when required, between National Conventions. National
Convention A National Convention is held once in two years. All members
whose membership is valid, have the right to participate in the Convention. The
Convention is the policy making body of the ILG. Election of Office
Bearers All Committees from the Local to National level are made
up of six office bearers viz., A President, two Vice Presidents, a Secretary,
a Treasurer and a Public Relations Officer. While the general body of members
elects the President and the two Vice Presidents the President nominates the Secretary,
the Treasurer and the Public Relations Officer. For further details regarding
